  • Assets under management increase tenfold to EUR 900 million within one year
  • Tech fund ‘BIT Global Internet Leaders R-I’ shows 355% return since launch
  • ‘Global Internet Leaders SICAV-SIF’ with more than 430% growth since launch

Berlin, January 25, 2021. BIT Capital looked back on a record year 2020: Currently, the Berlin-based asset manager manages total assets of more than 900 million euros. This means that assets under management have increased more than tenfold within one year. The new fund “BIT Global Leaders”, focused on future-oriented companies, launched in November 2020 promises further growth. BIT Capital was founded in 2017 by internet entrepreneur and investor Jan Beckers with the vision of making future-oriented investment products accessible to everyone.

With a return of more than 170 percent in 2020, the ‘BIT Global Internet Leaders UCITS R-I‘ fund (ISIN: DE000A2N8127) is one of the three most successful equity funds in Europe. It thus outperformed the benchmark ‘MSCI World Information Technology Index’ by 136 percent in 2020 as a whole. Since its launch in January 2019, the fund has generated a net return of 355 percent.

The fund ‘Global Internet Leaders SICAV-FIS‘ (ISIN: LU1640611676) even achieved 217 percent net return in 2020. For regulatory reasons, the fund is only accessible to (semi)-professional investors.

“Tomorrow’s economy will be shaped by technology companies. The winners of major technology trends will multiply in share value, while the companies that fail to succeed in this change will become irrelevant. We combine our industry expertise, software, and data to find tomorrow’s winners early,” said Jan Beckers, founder and chief investment officer of BIT Capital. “In 2020, our very active investment approach was able to beat all benchmarks by more than 100 percent. We are convinced that we will be able to significantly outperform the relevant benchmarks in 2021 as well, and we look forward to benchmarking against ETFs and competitors.”

“Over the last very special year, we have closely followed how the team around Jan Beckers has consistently made the right decisions at the right time. The result of this very active fund management is reflected in the excellent performance and a reputation as a new generation of asset management that BIT Capital has more than earned,” says Sadettin Yildiz, Chief Investment Officer of Donner & Reuschel.
