BIT Capital expands offering with new crypto funds

Berlin/Hong Kong, 21. October 2021 BIT Capital launches two new funds focusing on cryptocurrencies and listed companies that operate in the blockchain & crypto sector. For the first time, the Berlin-based fund manager, one of the most successful technology investors worldwide, offers investors in Germany access to this market segment.

The BIT Global Crypto Leaders (WKN: A3CNGM) fund invests in approximately 35 companies and selected crypto assets. Due to the regulatory regime, Crypto assets account for a maximum of 10 percent of the portfolio. “Our team is constantly looking for crypto assets and companies that have successfully passed their startup phase and are already attracting millions of users worldwide. We focus on picking the next winners,” states Jan Beckers, CIO and founder of BIT Capital.

The BIT Crypto Opportunities (WKN: A3CNGP) fund is reserved for professional investors. Crypto assets can account for up to 85 percent of the actively managed portfolio. The fund combines strategic and tactical views and applies a robust risk management framework with limits to position sizes, liquidity ratios, stress testing, and constant monitoring.

Jan Beckers: “There are more than 8,000 crypto assets worldwide. Only 1 percent of these will be successful in the long term. But these can then achieve enormous increases in value.” Separating winners from the losers thus is key to formidable returns. The new funds offer security and peace of mind for investors that do not want to store crypto assets directly in their wallets.

Ha Duong, portfolio manager of the new funds, explains, “For me personally, crypto is the most fascinating industry of the future. This year, DeFi (Decentralized Finance) and NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) have proven that crypto is going mainstream. Our team has the necessary experience to identify these megatrends early – we’ve been researching and investing in crypto assets since 2015. ”

The crypto funds are a logical evolution of BIT Capital’s product portfolio. BIT Global Fintech Leaders was the most recent addition to the investment strategies: “BIT Capital invests in a focused manner in areas where our experience and the team’s specialized industry knowledge provide a competitive advantage,” says Ha Duong.

With digital expertise, extensive research, and investment in its technology infrastructure, the BIT Capital team has successfully identified global tech winners to date. BIT Capital’s first fund, Global Internet Leaders (WKN: A2DTZ3), generated a net return of more than 700 percent from its inception in May 2018 to the end of the third quarter of 2021. At the fund’s launch, an investment of 10,000 euros had become more than 80,000 euros by the end of September 2021. Launched in May 2021, the BIT Global Fintech Leaders (WKN: A2QJLA) fund manages over 74 million euros after a successful start.
