Press Release: "BIT Capital makes successful flagship strategy available as an active ETF for the first time"
The BIT Global Technology Leaders Active UCITS ETF has been available for daily trading since August 3, 2026.

Berlin, August 10, 2026 BIT Capital has launched its first actively managed ETF, the BIT Global Technology Leaders Active UCITS ETF (ISIN DE000A4231H9). The new investment product has been available for daily trading since August 3, 2026, making BIT Capital’s successful flagship strategy accessible to ETF investors for the first time.
Long-standing track record of the underlying strategy
As an exchange-traded share class of the BIT Global Technology Leaders strategy, the ETF is based on the same portfolio, investment process, and fund management. This eliminates the typical startup risks associated with new ETFs. Instead, the ETF provides access to an established fund with approximately 1.6 billion euros in assets, which has been one of the highest-performing equity funds in Europe since its inception in 2019 and has received awards including the LSEG Lipper Europe Active Award. On May 11, 2026, the net asset value exceeded 1,000 euros per share for the first time, having increased more than tenfold in about seven years.
Same strategy, different fee models
The ETF share class follows a different fee structure than the R-I share class of the BIT Global Technology Leaders fund: the ETF has a management fee of approximately 0.4 percent, supplemented by a 15 percent performance fee. The reference R-I share class has a higher ongoing charge but does not carry a performance fee. The ETF is designed as an additional exchange-traded access point to the existing strategy.
Early positioning for the next waves of AI adoption
The BIT Global Technology Leaders portfolio is global and benchmark-agnostic, focusing on companies that are set to benefit most from the next waves of AI adoption. Using AI-driven analysis of technological developments, usage patterns, and alternative data, BIT Capital identifies companies early on that are opening up new growth areas, scaling their business models through AI, and capturing a disproportionate share of the resulting value creation.
"Artificial intelligence will significantly shape value creation over the coming decade, but it will distribute it unevenly," says Jan Beckers, founder and CIO of BIT Capital. "Investing in technology or AI across the board is therefore too simplistic. Our goal is to position investors specifically on the winning side of the AI transformation. To do this, we identify technological shifts and new growth areas before they are reflected in valuations—with the aim of turning our information advantage into outperformance."
The foundation of this approach is a proprietary Human x AI investment platform that BIT Capital has been continuously developing over the past eight years. It processes more than 100 terabytes of raw data daily, generates hundreds of near-real-time signals per company, and includes more than 30 AI-supported processes. The division of labor is clearly defined: AI systems identify data patterns and changes, while the investment team evaluates their relevance and concrete investment implications.
Highly active management instead of passive index tracking
Unlike index-linked ETFs, the BIT Capital investment team actively decides on the selection, weighting, and holding period of individual portfolio positions. Investment decisions follow a rigorous valuation discipline: temporary market inefficiencies are systematically exploited to adjust positions and capture new opportunities early. High-conviction positions are specifically weighted heavily to maximize their potential contribution to the targeted outperformance.
"With our first active ETF, we are now making one of Europe's highest-performing equity strategies available for exchange trading," says Peter Wibbe, Managing Director at BIT Capital. "This also marks the start of the targeted expansion of our offering to include further active ETFs."
